Don't hate...

I have blog-block, hence the 2 youtube posts - and I'm trying to bury The Jonas Brother's down there.

I just don't want to fall out of the habit of blogging even though I have nothing coming to mind to write about...

Oh my MY!

Oh my!

Summer confession...

Are you ready for this?

When I think back on this summer the music attached to the memories will be The Jonas Brothers. Yep.

When I'm outside sunbathing/burning to death I'll listen to them on my mp3 player. I watched Camp Rock on youtube. This is a Jonas Brothers summer.

If I wasn't older than them and single I don't think I'd have a crush on them because sometimes they wear strange shoes. And because I'm jealous of their hair.

Don't hate. Appreciate.

We went to see the new Batman film last night for Stuart's ongoing birthday extravaganza.

I knew before we went that it was going to be hard for me to enjoy the film - I didn't really like Batman Begins and then there's the whole Heath Ledger thing that I find sad still. I didn't enjoy the film at all. Too dark. Too violent. Too long. I found a lot of it really disturbing which is probably what they were going for when they were writing the script and everything so they succeeded but it's not something I want to witness. We won't be owning that one. I felt a bit yucky once it was done.

Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker and I had nightmares last night because of it.

The Lover's Birthday.

The day began early for him - 5am for work. Right before he got home we were able to run into town and pick up a lovely balloon and an ice-cream cake AND I was able to graffitti the car. Stuart wouldn't let me come into work with a thing of Costco cupcakes for him and all his Jansport worker-buddies so scribbling on the car was the next best thing...
He got home and was a bit grumpy - it had been a long day and he had to wait all day for any birthday festivities. We had to wait a bit longer to open his presents so I had him go search for the one from me. Stuart is the worst seeker in the whole world. He was getting more and more grumpy because I wouldn't just give the present to him. Where's the fun in that? He knows I enjoy torturing him anyway... Eventually he found it.

Then he opened the rest of his gifts. He got a good variety of things ie. a mango and mango slicer from Danielle. His parents took us out to dinner at Boston's Gourmet Pizza and Pasta. (I think that's what it's called, I may have made it up though.) The food was REALLY good! I had the Flying Buffalo Calzone and Stuart had the baked Ravioli. No pictures were taken because I was famished and didn't come up for breath until I was done eating.

Then we came home and had ice-cream cake.
And played Rockband.

Today is Stuart's 25th birthday.

Pictures to follow...when I've taken them.

To Cameron,

A few days ago you told me you really wanted to see a zebra. I thought it was a funny thing for you to say, so random.

Yesterday I was at the zoo and knew there were zebra's! The whole time I was thinking of you. Stuart took a picture for you so you could see them too. I hope you like it.

I love you.

Kites, Friends, Zoo and Burgers...

A while ago Stuart and I bought a couple of kites. I've been really excited to get them out and flying but we never got round to it until yesterday afternoon. It was quite blustery outside but it wasn't a constant bluster so the kite flying didn't last long but it was still a lot of fun.At 3pm we headed into Seattle with some friends to go to the zoo and a few other places. The weather was perfect... In the big budgie cage you can buy a stick with some bird seed on it for a buck. A little boy, probably about 6 or 7 had one and was feeding a little bird. The bird hopped onto his stick and was eating away when the little guy started freaking out. It was really funny. The bird was getting closer to his hand which made his spazz out even more. He ended up screaming and shouting "Get it OFF! GET IT OFF!!" His family just ignored him. The bird flew away when he shook it off but he had an amazing look of terror on his face. It was hilarious. I wish I'd got it on video but I was too busy laughing.

The butterfly house was fun. We learned that the butterflies eat a mixture of fruit punch, gatorade and grapes (was it grapes?)...

I was really excited about the flamingoes...

The giraffe's were one of the last things we went to see. There was this one that was making us laugh. It was licking the side of the building the whole time.
After a few minutes of watching it I felt something staring at me. I looked around and couldn't see anyone. Then I looked up...

It kept looking at me for a loooong time. No blinking. No moving. Nothing. Just looking.

After zoo-time we went quick to the Troll Under the Bridge and then to Dick's for dinner and then home.

It was a very fun day.

Drive-in and fireworks.

On Thursday we went to the Drive-in to see Wall e and Get Smart. Stuart was asleep by the time Get Smart was 10 minutes in. It was a fun night. I love doing stuff like that with Stuart. We got home at 2.30am.
Then yesterday was July 4th which meant over-eating, fireworks and friends. Stuart took care of most of the food. He's at his best when grilling. We had a couple over who we met at school that are here on an internship. It was a lot of fun. We're going into Seattle with them today. We like them. This is the third time I'd ever lit a firework. This one is a little bee one.

It's been a fun weekend this far.

This is what it's going to look like when I take over the world!

The world looks good in Pink. Going green will fail. Do you see the last of the greens down in Australia? Yep. I killed him. I took over with such amazingness that there weren't enough pink pieces, I had to use some red...

This is the first and only game of Risk I've ever played. I conquered first time and feel no need to ever play again.

Accept the pinkness.

I'm on a quest!

A PIE quest!
Story goes that Stuart's favorite pie is chocolate cream. The kind where you use chocolate pudding mix and takes 10 minutes to make. To me this is stunning because there's a pie I make (bannoffee) that takes 4 HOURS to make. I'd make it as a special treat because it takes so long to make and he appeared to really enjoy it but infact he prefers a 10 minute pie.

The quest is to come up with a pie he likes even better than chocolate cream but takes just as much time to throw together.

What's your favorite pie? Help me complete my mission...

Food and such.

Beki finally got the internet at her house so she'll be blogging more. Today we decided to start a recipe blog. She kicked it off with a super yummy sounding Chicken Satay dish.
Keep an eye on that, there's more to come. I'll probably transfer some of the recipes I've shared on here over to that blog so to keep them all in the same place...

I can't even really imagine...

We drove past here on our Seattle day... we didn't stop to eat. It makes you wonder though, doesn't it?

I don't even want to know what that big inflatable thing is inside the door.
