Batman.

We went to see the new Batman film last night for Stuart's ongoing birthday extravaganza.

I knew before we went that it was going to be hard for me to enjoy the film - I didn't really like Batman Begins and then there's the whole Heath Ledger thing that I find sad still. I didn't enjoy the film at all. Too dark. Too violent. Too long. I found a lot of it really disturbing which is probably what they were going for when they were writing the script and everything so they succeeded but it's not something I want to witness. We won't be owning that one. I felt a bit yucky once it was done.

Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker and I had nightmares last night because of it.

Yeah, I have no desire to see this one. It's a good thing Andy had a friend that he could go with. When he got home he told me I wouldn't have been able to handle it anyway.
Everyone I've talked to about it has said it was a lot darker and creepier than they thought it was going to be.
so it's not one I'll ever see.

I went to see this movie with Jon on Saturday, and I had much of the same feelings. It creeped me out. Heath Ledger was way too good at acting psycho and evil. I am having a hard time getting some of the images out of my head. When I was in the theatre, I noticed way too many children for my taste. I wondered what those parents were thinking!

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the movie. I loved it! But I am not really freaked out very easily. I thought it was exciting, dark, funny, and intense. I can see why it might disturb some people though!! I hope you don't have any more nightmares! Maybe you should go see Mamma Mia. My SiL loved it!! Very light movie to counteract The Dark Knight!

Yeah I'm sort of afraid to go see this. Clowns are sort of creepy anyways and I just know that the movie will take that slight fear to an extreme level of paranoia. We'll probably go see it anyways though!

I completely agree with you. While I believe that it was brilliantly made in many aspects, I am more than disturbed and I can't even put my finger on why... there are too many things to identify.

I loved it, but then I'm very intrigued by psychopathology. That doesn't mean I want to be killed by someone like that, but it's SUPER interesting to watch it, read about it, hear about it...
The human mind is amazing, even when it's corrupted. The corruptions are the most interesting parts.
