Word of The Week.

word: Plook
definition: a zit.

"Here, did you see wee Boab's face? Talk aboot plooky!"

Promo-what?!

Stuart got promoted at work yesterday. He's now in charge of a production line - which suits his red personality. I'm really excited for him. It came out of the blue and the little pay raise will be really helpful for us. We never even knew promotion was a possibility. Yay Stuie!

I went to the chiropracter yesterday for the first time since August. It's going to be good to have my back worked on again. I hope it'll be better for Disneyland in August.

We started compiling our summer list last week. This year we're making it a family thing. I'll post it down the side of the blog. I'm going to take a bunch of pictures and digiscrap them so they can be compiled into a Summer Book as a gift for family members. I'll put the pictures up on my Scrapblog...

Yep. Not too much going on here really. We played an extreme amount of Rockband on the weekend. I'm becoming less shy with my singing.

Dreams of the future:

I want it to be a 2 storey house with the bedrooms all upstairs and the kitchen and livingroom downstairs, like the houses I've always lived in. I want Stuart to have a 9-5 job so that he doesn't have to leave super early or get home too late.

Right now I'm having a really hard time with my back - moreso my right hip. I think it's a lot to do with not sleeping on an actual bed. It puts a lot of pressure on my hips when I roll over because we're sleeping on the normally super-duper comfy cordaroy. It looks like we might need to by a bed sometime in the near future. It's also good to know that memory foam is evil and gives no proper support to my back. We'll stay clear of that in our mattress purchase.

Nothing much is new since my last post. I'm feeling a lot better. I'm practically as fit as a fiddle. I got to talk to Beki today and see the twins on the webcam for the first time properly. It was really nice. I got to entertain Cameron with my nifty webcam accessories too which was pretty funny. He wants Stuart and me to visit him tomorrow :( I miss the wee man.

Today I got up at 5.30am. That's when this house seems to be awake. We sleep in the room right next to the garage door and alarm so we hear all the activations and warnings of the alarm system and the door opening and closing, loud and clear - hence why I want to live in a normal 2 storey house with bedrooms all together...

Bag Tag

I'm going to rename this "How much junk can fit into one bag tag"...

Here we have a marvelous collection of goodies.
1 notebook and pen.
1 Color Code by Taylor Hartmand, PhD. (I'm white, with equal blue/yellow.)
An assortment of lip balms - 1 fruit, 1 mint and 1 nut
2 Chanel no. 5 hand lotions
2 hair bobbles
4 fortune cookie fortunes
1 MP3 player
1 set of speakers
1 bottle of anti-acids AKA after dinner mints
1 actual after dinner mint
1 crappy digital camera
1 set of batteries
1 box of Stay Awake pills (from roadtrip)
1 bottle of tylenol (for "back attacks")
1 sheet of stamps
keys
1 safety pin
1 money purse

I usually carry another little clutch type purse in my big bag with 'girly things' in it.
So there you have it. That's what I lug about when I'm out and about. Just call me Mary Poppins.

I tag Megan, Emma, Jessica, Rachel, Sally, Rachel F., Kassi, Siobhan, Aileen, and every other female I know...
Take a picture of your bag and a picture of the contents...

Adjustments and such.

Today I'm sick so I didn't get to go to church. I have some kind of cold that started with a sore throat and feeling completely fine yesterday to almost puking and being extremely tired last night. It's on it's way out though. I've quarentined myself just so no-one else can get it. I took some Nyquil last night to help me get a good amount of sleep. I got it but I also got some really weird dreams, the kind where you wake up and aren't sure if they were real or not. The message of the dreams were basically the same - I'm desperate to go home and see Beki and meet her babies. Desperate.

Stuart starts work on Tuesday so I have to be better tomorrow so I can spend a day with him. I think I'll be in a routine soon so I'll be back to my usual picture taking, blogging self. Until then, I'm working on it ;)

Roadtrip recovery.

It took a day but I think I'm recovered now. Can you get jet lag from roadtrips? I think so.
It always amazes me how exciting it is to see lakes of water that aren't frozen but after so many months of frozen wasteland it never fails to excite me. The trip from Idaho to Washington is like going from one planet to another. I think Idaho would be Mars and Washington would be... Uranus because it's green. It's funny looking at the pictures from along the way. I've missed trees.

Safe and sound.

We arrived safely and soundly about an hour ago. I've got stuff to do just now but thought I'd let everyone know we survived the 13 hour drive. I'll post pictures and stories later on.

Injured in the line of...

Yesterday I was cleaning like a mad woman and then when we were having dinner my arms started hurting REALLY badly. They were throbbing like never before and I had no way to make them feel better. Rubbing them hurt like the dickens. Not rubbing hurt like the dickens. A hot shower didn't loosen anything up. Stretching them did nothing... It was so bad I had to sing myself to sleep as a distraction. Then I realised why they hurt... Ringing sponges out all day is a dangerous thing. Beware of wet sponges.

The good news is the oven is clean now.

...

Is it really only Tuesday? How long has it been Tuesday for?... Oh boy.

Happy Birthday, Wee Man!

I truely cannot believe the wee Cambino is 5 years old today! It's absolute madness how fast time has gone. I left home just 4 days after his first birthday and now look at him. He's walking, talking AND starting school this year! The 4 weeks we spent in Scotland last summer were the best. Cameron is the brightest, imaginative, funniest, most polite little boy I've ever met. I love him.

Take a dawdle over here to see more of him.

Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip Cookies...

1 cup Peanut butter
1 cup
brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1-2 cups chocolate chips

Mix Peanut butter, brown sugar, baking soda and egg.
Add chocolate chips and mix well.
Drop onto greased
cookie sheet.
Bake at 350’ for 9 minutes.

Be sure to cool for 5 minutes before moving to cooling rack - they're crumbly soft.

Busy busy!

On Thursday I made a double batch of Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip Truffle Cookies for Stuart to take to class on Friday. They didn't make it to his class but found a nice home in Stuart and Danielle's tummies. It was a challenge to make then in my pit of a kitchen.
Yesterday Linzi picked me up just after 8am for our day trip to Lehi. It was a fun day with lots of chatting and some singing and laughing. We got to Lehi at lunch time and Lauren fed us her delicious chicken salad on ciabatta bread. YUMP! We went to Ikea and hung out some more and ate some more then hung out even more. It was such a nice trip. We left at about 7pm and stopped off a babies r us for a bit and drove home. We got back at midnight.
